Remote work in Japan is gaining popularity, especially in the post-pandemic period. A good knowledge of Japanese working culture will help you get a job in Japan, if you do not neglect to respect the traditions of these conservative people.

By putting into the practice the guidance and insights offered, learners will be able to enhance their job performance by:

  • Establishing rapport quickly and interacting with confidence
  • Managing Japanese expectations and minimising confusion
  • Communicating clearly and dealing with conflict carefully
  • Improving consensus-building skills and persuading with purpose

Who is the course for?

Literally anyone who works with the Japanese virtually.

It addresses many of the challenges faced by professionals who work for/with Japanese organisations from afar, i.e. in their own country, online.

The course looks at all the important topics such as virtual meetings and communication. See more below on the contents.

If the virtual aspect is not important, we also have a generic Japan Cultural Awareness eLearning Course which covers topics such as etiquette and how to behave in Japan.

Are there any prerequisites for learners?

Not really as it’s aimed at all levels of learners.

Some knowledge of cultural awareness would be useful but not necessary.

We have a course available should any learners want to expand their knowledge.

How many people can take the course?

It’s up to you. No limit.

We will give all your learners their own logins and they can take the course in their own time.

We can even give you statistics on your learners’ progress as and when you want it.

Is there an assessment for the course?

Assessment is carried out during the course.

This is via multiple choice questions as well as questions based around case studies and workplace scenarios.
